1. Project Overview: Kuqa City is located at the eastern end of Aksu region, Xinjiang, located at the southern foot of the central Tianshan Mountains, the northern edge of the Tarim Basin, bounded with Hejing County in the north, adjacent to Luntai and Yuli County in the east, bordered with Shaya County in the south, connected to Baicheng County in the northwest, and facing Xinhe County in the west across the Weigan River. The Wucha Reservoir Project in Kuqa City, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang is located 10km north of Kuqa City, in Yixihara Town, Kuqa City. It is about 110m west of the mechanical silting pond of the second branch main channel of Kuqa River and 1200m north of the second branch main channel. The reservoir area is about 1.35km². The terrain of the reservoir area is relatively flat and the reservoir is roughly rectangular. The main task of the project is to divert the Kuche River water from the copper storage reservoir, and to deposit sediment on the newly added urban water supply surface water source of Chengbei Water Plant. It also serves as a backup pool for the urban and rural water supply project of Chengbei Water Plant and an emergency drought-resistant water source project for the basic ration land of Wucha Town. The project is mainly composed of water diversion projects, reservoir projects, water release projects and other buildings. The total reservoir capacity is 8.3 million m³, which is arranged on four sides of the dam. The dam is a geomembrane inclined wall gravel dam. The composite geomembrane is anti-seepage in the entire storage, and the dam height is 18.5m. The project is of grade IV, the project scale is small (I), the main buildings with a maximum capacity are level 4, and the temporary buildings are level 5.
